Big Epp
What is your favorite hook for crappie jigs? I've read size 4 and 6 are popular sizes. And the eagle claw little nasty ones look cool. I started making my own jigs squeezing split shot onto hooks. I don't have a mold at this time. The ones I've made so far are with split shot and Aberdeen hooks I bent with wire benders. I figured it would be easier to buy jig hooks than bend my own, and stronger too. toadfrog
Generally use Eagle claw hooks for myself . No. 4 0n plastics and 6 on ties . Generally gold or little nasty black platinum. Victory hooks will work for crappie and such too. No need to invest in expensive hooks for delicate fish.
smalljaw
I use both the new Victory sickle hooks as well as the Eagle Claw Lil Nasty hooks. I use mainly a size 4 and I really like the sickle style hooks. They hold and hold extremely well. I've never lost a fish that was hooked with that style of hook.
cadman
I'll second the Eagle Claw Lil Nasty hooks. They are extremely sharp and very affordable.
