SpoonMinnow
Years ago I used Super Glue but found the lures ruined when I went to change them plus leaving chunks of plastic on the jighead. So after ruining so many lures even using barbed jigs an idea flashed through my brain that would allow any plastic to be unattached without damage: wire. To start, wire that is too small or large in diameter has its drawbacks. 24g plastic coated, floral-arrangement wire is perfect; wire cutter and needle nose pliers the other tools needed. Here is the sequence: Cut the wire so the length on the right is near the hook's curve: Wrap the wire tightly around once and cutting one side close to the line tie post : Shape the remaining wire into an L which holds any soft plastic lure regardless of size: Can also be used with skirted jigs: It also works on a jig trailer and still allows a side-to-side action; the wire loop prevents trailer loss: Edited February 22, 2022 by SpoonMinnow 1
Aaron856
Looks good. I have seen Strike King jigs with something like that
SpoonMinnow
As long as the wire is on the outside and swings away when removing the lure, no damgage done. I won't use jigs without the wire though 1/32 oz jigs usually doesn't need the grip. If I don't need the grip such as with this wacky-rigged grub, I bend the wire and unbend it when needed: Edited March 2, 2022 by SpoonMinnow
