Goggle_Eye
Hello, I recently started messing around making hard baits that have soft plastic appendages/attachments and wanted to know some suggestions for the best (preferably inexpensive) clear coat that wont melt soft plastics. Thanks.
JD_mudbug
I have not had a problem with Devcon 2 Ton (D2T) reacting with anything yet. It does not affect my soft plastic (plastisol) and silicone fins. It's a very good clear coat and cheap. You can buy the double syringe for $5-7 if you just want to try it out. RiverSmallieGuy
What I would do is simply install the plastisol appendages after the clear coat. You can have slots, pins, or really anything that could hold them installed in the lure when you clear coat, and then you just place your appendages onto the lure. This would prevent any reaction or action limitation due to clear coat. Braden
Hillbilly voodoo
No issues with dry KBS or Etex reacting to soft plastics on the baits I have made
Big Epp
I used to use MCU (Moisture Cured Urethane) a lot in the past, and I understand that melts with the softeners in the plastic. A lot of the feedback I got on this was that epoxy generally does not have this problem.
