Ed from Iowa
Wow, I had tried just using a nail for a mandrel and seems like they always bend on me. Is that what you used? Looks like a jeweler's file worked well, hadn't thought of that. I have been using sand papaer on a dowel for some shapes too. Thank for the tips
Flyman_aj
Thanks, glad you like it. I use a trim nail as a mandrel. I've never had a problem. The file in this video is a Xacto file, I'm not sure if that's the same as a jeweler file. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Fatman
First I heard of this was from Fly Anglers On line back in 2007! Jim Hatch the guy doing them even sent me one of his pig bugs!!
Ed from Iowa
Thanks Flyman, Maybe I got a little heavy hand with my try at nails as a mandrel. The other thing I was thinking, I was trying to hand hold the dremel which means more wobble from both hands. Yeah that small family of files ia all the same basically, I just grew up with a father that was a jeweler.
