Jig Man
On one of my mods I got too much silicone in the eye socket of a couple of cavities. I have tried a few unsuccessful ways to reshape it (knife, hemostats, WD-40). None of them have worked. Is there a way to get this stuff reshaped or am I going to have to dig it out and start over? cadman
I have not found a way to reshape cured silicone. Once it sets, all you can do is cut it or dig it out.
Jig Man
So far cutting has not worked. I may have to start digging.
Kasilofchrisn
I would bet it's easier to dig it out and start over. Cured silicone like that is hard to shape or cut precisely.
cadman
By cut, depending on where it is, you can take a small x-acto and cut along any straight lines and then lift it up. Sometimes when you do that, you can pull a small section out.
Will Wetline
It will dull an X-acto blade quickly. I'd pick it out.
Jig Man
It was in the hook eye socket. I got it out with a drill bit turned by hand. Then I redid it neater.
