KYBuilder
I picked up a can of Kilz original primer and sealer and was going to use it on basswood, anyone know if this is a good mix or if I am setting myself up for disaster. BobP
I've used Kilz as a white base coat on bare wood with no problem. Without a sealer coat, a white acrylic latex basecoat will raise the wood's grain so Kilz is an alternative. I've also used white automotive spray primer with good results. My only reservation is any possible odor caused by VOCs that remain after drying. Haven't noticed excessive odor, but you you want to avoid that if you can. RiverMan
I bought some water based Kilz, diluted it with water, and dipped one bait yesterday made of basswood. The bait looks very good, completely white, and the paint is difficult to scrape off. I think the stuff is going to work great. jed
