BASS8BAITS
Do any of you guys keep pre mixed colors for your fast movers? I think I spend more time mixing colors than pouring.
nova
Seems to me if you pre-mix color recipes or do them as you would normally, it is still going to take the same amount of time. Or am I missing something? :
BASS8BAITS
LOL! I'm thinking about mixing a half gallon at a time, not half a cup like i'm doing now.
BASS8BAITS
A half gallon at a time so I can store the unused portion for later in the week.
GB GONE
Javier: That is exactly what I started doing. Sometimes I don't have time to pour but I have enough time to mix up a couple of 2 cup Pyrex cups, nuke them, mix'em well and let them cool. I store them in the cheap tupperware containers from wally world. Then when its time to pour, just break out the color your looking for and..BAM..your pouring in no time. Having the most requested on hand like that has helped me get the baits out quicker and make the most of the little time I already don't have !! nova
I understood the part about the larger volumn, but it still takes equal time. I also would be concerned about color separation with that.
azbass
I keep 28 64oz plastic containers with my best selling colors premixed. There is some settling and stratifying of colors, but they only need to be stirred to solve that little problem. I normally pour a minimum of 100 baits so it really does save time to premix. It also gives you a greater degree of color consistency. The containers are the kind your wives buy to store stuff like Kool-aid and fruit juice in the fridge. GB GONE
Az: Do you use plastic or glass?? I had some plastic ones but have switched to glass as the spigot had rubber in it on the plastic ones and the plastisol broke down the rubber Nothing leaked as I store them upright but I had to switch them out. i haven't seen any color changes or problems with consitency however i don't leave them for very long (probably less than 30 days). Longer sit times may give a problem. jim
azbass
GaBassNerd i use the plastic storage containers made by Rubbermaid. They are available in several different sizes from about 12 fl. oz. on up.They have metric and oz measuring marks embossed right on the container so you can dispense right out of your bulk container without having to use measuring cups. The tops seal very good and have a pour spout. No rubber seals for the plastic to dissolve. I label them w/marking paint(not ink) and the plastic doesn't seem to affect the paint like it did the Magic Marker.
