Pop
Does anyone make a fluke bucktail jig called "Silver Bullet"? It consists of a chromed ball-shaped head with a swivel attached to a white bucktail hook with silver mylar trim. Chartreuse bucktail is another popular color. I am trying to find a mold and figure out how to chrome the ball shaped head. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Pop
clemmy
not an expert in this area, but two things come to mind: You could use a nickel plated brass bead, Hagen's and Worth both carry these to 3/8", plus both offer special production if your looking to manufacture... Also: you could try a modified do-it ball head mold/custom mold by you or made by Del, then immediately powder coat clear after pouring to prevent dulling... Bass Tracker
Pop, We use fluke balls up here in the NE a ton. Depending on what size you are making, we have used small cannon ball out rigger weight molds to make them. --BT
Pop
Thanks Bass Tracker. How do you chrome them? Pop
Bass Tracker
We go to local shops to have them chromed, but to be honest most of the time we zinc them. Its much cheaper and most of the zincing shops are more willing to take smaller jobs.
