MaddoxBay
Ok guys I am looking for an iridescent acrylic paint that is basically a clear that has iridescent properties to it. I want a blue and a green if anyone knows where to find it? I want to add it to the shoulders and side of my blue gill paint and give it that life like color shift that fish have. cullin8s
maddox for acrylic probably going to have to go with something from createx. They have chameleon and chameleon flair that will do the color shift you desire. www.coastairbrush.com or www.bearair.com should have what you need. SpoRoller
Maddox, I use the chameleon paints from Createx for the effect you are talking about. In particular I use the lilac on the "shoulders" for the color shift. I will check out that other site to see what they offer!

SpoRoller
Blades, I tried that link to Wasco but couldn't find it. When I go to the taxidermy link the home page says Wasco, but all they have is wildlife colors (which is a good thing). Can you post a direct link to Wasco? Mmoore
I had a similiar need, but couldn't find what I wanted. But, I did have some Min-wax polycrylic around, and I did find a product called pearl EX. It's a powdered pigment that I mixed with the polycrylic, and worked pretty good. I shot it through a large size airbrush nozzel .35 I think it is. I did have to experiment a little bit with how much to add...too much and it started clogging the airgun some. I used an interference type, but they also have color shifting types too. Anyway, it does work, but the effects were pretty subtle over lightcolored areas, much better over the dark blue I was using as the back of my bait. After topcoating with that mixture, I did the devcon thing....I think it came out pretty cool looking, but not sure what the fish think!!! dtrs5kprs
Chameleon createx, thinned and extended should do a nice job. Awesome looking bait as well.

MaddoxBay
Hey thanks guys... I am going to have to get a order here soon. I just wanted a little extra on the paint before I clear it :!:
Finneous Fogg
Try Golden Paint and their "Interference" colors. They look kinda milky, off colored white in the bottle but when you spray it (or brush it) the milky color clears a bit and a red or blue or green or whatever reflects off the color underneath it. That may be a bit cryptic but check 'em out. They're very cool. And so ends my first post on these boards. Later FF
the-bass-catcher
the createx chemeleons are the way to go, if you ask me. They give a hint of color and shine without changing the color underneath. Over black it stands out the most, over white, the least. Try varying amounts to get the look you want. good luck
Finneous Fogg
I just checked out the Createx site. It sounds like the Chameleon paint they have is basically the same thing as the Golden Interference colors. Rip LIP FF
