Chris Catignani
I have been buying Do-It Essential Series Plastisol and have been pretty happy with the results. Recently I bought a larger size of Do-It Crystal Clear Plastisol (honestly not knowing the difference). It seems to me that the Crystal Clear is way softer than the Essential Series. Anyone else use both and have this conclusion?
seakarp
Yup way softer. It is more of an issue in thinner baits, which become quite droopy, like trick worms. I have no problems with fatter kietech style baits like do-it rippers or senkos though. So yes, as Johnny Carson's side kick used to say, "You are correct sir!".
Chris Catignani
I'm gonna add another question to this same thread. In an effort to salvage the gallon of Crystal Clear I bought I'm thinking of making a hybrid version of plastisol...something like 2 parts DoIt Essentials 1 part Crystal Clear. Has anyone ever mixed these two before? Edited December 7, 2022 by Chris Catignani
Les Young
I haven't used them but i add hard plastic to medium all the time when making tubes. If what's you're using is way to soft i'd get a gallon of hard & try a 50/50 mix. If not firm enough add more hard until satisfied. I pour in mainly 4 ounce batches & if i want firmer it's very easy to do.
