Natural pumpkin with lighter green pumpkin powder paint???

Recommended Posts

With all the paints available today. I am stuck trying to tie a color pattern I have in my head. LOL! You know what I’m talking about.
However, I’ve been using powder paint using regular light pumpkin as a base coat then reheating and sprinkling a light watermelon or green pumpkin on to break up the color and match the jig.
Is there a paint that is actually already pumpkin(light brown) and green that I could buy and cut it down to a one step process?

If you are trying to get a two tone effect  by mixing two powders into one powder especially the colors you are requesting, then I'm going to say no. Even if you combine your pumpkin brown with a green shake it up really well, you won't get a two tone effect. One color will overpower the other. However make a small batch and maybe it will work. Please post your results, maybe I am wrong. The only place I have seen this work are on marble powder paints and  vein powder paints. There are powders that fishingskirts.com has that has a two tone effect that I believe you are looking for but don't have your colors. The process you describe has to be done at the powder paint manufacturing facility and that is way too expensive to even consider.

When you are doing your two colors, you do not have to put an entire basecoat on as one color and then put on your second color. You can put your first color let's say on the bottom going half up the jig, then take your second color and go top down overlapping your other color so you won't have  any raw jig showing. Doing two colors really isn't that time consuming. I hope I answered your question correctly.

Others may have more info for you. Stay Tuned.

Ok. Good info. I knew the marble and vein paint existed. I just didn’t know if the color combos I liked existed anywhere. I check all the stores that most of us shop for our powder paints. Right now I do a full base coat dip. Then sprinkle on whatever other color because I want the base coat to still show up a little. I like the look of the paints like the vein and marble. I just didn’t know if there was any new powder paints with a marble, veins, or dot effect with the brown and tan or orange, green and orange, or brown and orange. I’ve looked at do-it, Barlow’s, Jane’s net craft, lure parts online, skirts unlimited, and most of the other stores we all check. I was curious if anyone heard or seen of a color or paint anything close to what I mentioned a couple sentences up from here. Thanks for the replies.

The closest thing would be the Jig Armor green pumpkin orange camo. The orange is toned down a bit because of the green pumpkin but I'm not sure if it would work for you. The issue for you is there isn't really anything for that color. I do the same as you, pumpkin brown base coat and I add GP or watermelon over top. Here is a tip for any manufacturers looking on this site. Make a pumpkin color with green pumpkin or watermelon veining through it. I'd buy it and right quick!!!

Check out the Stardust powder paints available from us and other retailers. There are a number of camo type colors that may be close to what you want. Stardust is different from powder paint - it creates a thicker, rubber-like coating - but we've been impressed with the colors and the application process is similar to powder paint.
