Will
I wanted to see how many Z-Lizards I could get out of 2 cups of plastics since I have to ship 25 of them to a customer. I ended up with 51 lizards. The problem I noticed is that the first 27 were the color I intended them to be and the remaining 24 got darker (still a bunch of good looking lizards), but not the same as the first 27. In order to do those little legs you need to get your plastic very hot and even though I was very careful and taking the pyrex cup out of the microwave oven every 30 seconds they just got darker eventually. I know the solution to large batches of plastics is to add stabilizer to your plastic. I have also noticed that between Del, MF, and Lurecraft, Lurecraft seems to be the only one to carry them. Is this true, or there is another vendor of stabilizer out there? My other question is, how much stabilizer would you need for a 2-cup job? Thank you. woodsac
I add heat stabilizer and softener to my 5 gallon bucket of Calhoun. I don't know exactly, but I only add about 1-1.5 oz?
alsworms
I use 1/3 cup of stabilizer in 5-gal. of Calhoun and haven't burned a batch yet. I think if you add too much more than that you'll have an awfully stinky plastic.
