Luredervs
Hi , i bought the 4 cavity do-it senko mold and came seem to get 4 good parts without getting denting , pretty sure its not air because when i touch that area i just sinks in … i do heat the mold up to where I have to pick it up with gloves and i top off the sprue as it sinks , and I also dont open the mold for about 3 to 4 mons after injection.. was gonna try angling the mold different so it flows better … any suggestions would be great , Thanks in advance
alsworms
I'm sure the injection guys will chime in, but the few I had I would inject slower and at higher temps. Hope this helps :-)
Jig Man
Try als method and keep pressure on the injector for a few seconds after the mold is “full”.
McLuvin175
Try not heating the molds. Inject and hold pressure for 10-15 seconds after full. Top off injection port with molten plastic. De-mold much sooner, before dent forms. 1-2 minutes. If necessary lay baits out in a water bath to relax and finish cooling. Then hang or layout as usual.
Les Young
I inject that mold at a decent speed & hold pressure for about 5 seconds, top of sprue & wait 3 minutes to demold then throw in water. The only time i've had denting with it was when i got the temp a little to hot. Edited February 28, 2023 by Les Young
Luredervs
Thanks everyone , I will try these ideas and give an update … Thanks again
hpssports
Try shooting as low temperature as possible & hold at least a 10 second pressure. We usually shoot our stick baits around 285 degrees.

Instead of sucking it up with the injector I took off the injector nozzle and poured it directly in … thanks for taking time out with all your advice

Sucking it up & turning the injector over on an angle & purging the air out of the injector is very easy to do so that's what i do each time & it works great.

Plastic expands when its heated, contracts when it cools, as the cavity cools it needs to draw in more plastic from the runner to prevent dents (why you see it suck down after injecting it). When the gate or runner freezes off (solidifies) before the cavity solidifies it has no way to pull in plastic and sucks in on itself. In other words it is a flaw in the mold design itself, it's always been an issue with that mold, from the day they released it. Whatever you are doing other than how you fill the injector (it's always baffled me why its been promoted to fill that way, seems like an accident waiting to happen) is helping mitigate the dents.
mark poulson
My do-it essentials 5" senko mold doesn't dent. I shoot at 325+-, and hold pressure for a five count.
