basskat
We all re-melt them by the hundreds. Saves lots of money!
alsworms
Yep - it works great! I've never used leftovers for production work, but I save all my extra chunks for tails, veins, and such. Chris

alsworms
If it's a soft formula plastic, it should only take 2-3 minutes in the microwave, and 4-5 minutes on a burner. When reheating in a microwave, make sure you take it out after a minute or so and stir before putting it back in. This will help keep it from scorching. A production pot also works great for reheating chunks of plastic. Chris
Stumpy041486
well i put a senko in the microwave and heated it about that long and took it out and most of it dried before i could pour it.... are you just supposed to work super fast or am i doing something wrong? thanx
woodsac
The less plastic you use, the quicker it cools. Try with some cheap baits (not senkos). Rip em into a few little pieces about 3 or 4 oz worth in a pyrex cup. The heating process goes thru stages. It starts to break down, then it turns into a gel, and then finally liquifies again. Once it is runny liquid (the consistency of hot syrup) try and pour a couple more. I say not to use senkos because besides the obvious (the price tag) all the salt in them makes it harder to pour when you are just learning.
