recipe for "morning dawn" color

Recommended Posts

I haven't tried it yet but the word on the street has it the way to make morning dawn is........one drop of red per ounce of plastic and one drop of blue per ounce of plastic .

Fill the bottom of the mold cavity with the lite blue plastic and then fill it the rest of the way with the lite red. Where the two colors blend will be kind of a lite purple . I guess you could tweak the ratio of red and blue plastic to get the desired effect?

Bass8

That looks pretty good.

Its close but like you said less drops might work better to make it transparent.

I been working on this color for a few months. I have it pretty close but no cigar yet.

I thought I had it done but ran out of highlight so I am waiting on some more highlight to show up.

Once I get it perfect I will post the ingrediants, its a very tricky color too make.

I have 2 quarts(but ran out of highlight) of it and gave bass8 some to play with.

tried this recipe and it gets you very close 8O

2/3 cup plastic

2 drops LC white

1 drop MF strawberry

2 ounces plastic

4 drops MF blus smoke pearl

1 drop aquamarine blue

dip tail in Chartruese dye for a neat look. flip flopped with the blue pearl on top gives the bait a baitfish appearrance as the pearl really stands out.

Anmy chances of seeing a pic?

tried the scanner, but it comes out looking all white :pissed: I'm gonna have to break down and buy a digital camera. stay tuned.

Try placing a colored piece of felt or construction paper that contrasts with the bait over the top of it when scanning it reduces the glare and makes the bait stand out.

Green black and maroon-red felt seem to work the best.

This is a pretty good generic morning dawn.

  • 2oz plastic (Anything but 3G...LoL.)
    2 drops MF fluoro pink
    1 drop MF Red
    2 drops MF pearlescent white
Blue Highlight to suit your needs.

If you want to be a stickler about it, omit the blue highlight and pour a vein seperately of:

  • 2 oz plastic
    2 drops LC california blue
    a lump of blue highlight.

This formula works for me.

My best guess and it is not a secret anymore but here is what you should try and why.

MF Earthworm

I have been a fan of this color and some of you may remember me refer to my "girly color" worm as far back on tacklemaking.com. It is the morning dawn color, pink with a blue tint.

Why does it work so well? here is your answer, Have you ever seen baby crawfish? When a crawfish lay's her eggs she holds them in her tail. when they hatch here is what a bass sees. The mother willl release the load when in danger and a pink ball of babies float araound to be eaten.

I have more research on this than I care to mention lol but the picture tells all.
