Started pouring the poison tail w/ owner twist lock hooks and seem to be missing lots of fish on the hook set. I am swimming this 100% of the time. Fish pick up the bait and when I set the hook the jig comes flying out of the water. Hook up ratio is about 60/40 for the good. Haven't tried any other hooks. Any recommendations on hooks? Ogajiga Posted May 10, 2023 Report Share Posted May 10, 2023 I don't understand your missed hooksets issue? Are you T-rigging the plastics using the keeper coil to pin the nose of the baits? If so, misses are to be expected, & if not in my experience open hook EWG does miss slightly more hooksets than straight point parallel to shank.
