Voids?

Recommended Posts

I’ve been shooting some twin tail grubs.  It is an Angling A I 4 cavity 5” mold.  My garage is 95°.  I’m trying to keep the plastisol around 320°.  I’m using full injectors.  I’m injecting slowly and keeping pressure on for about 10 seconds when the mold is full.  The tails are filling out well.  About 20% of the baits have a hollow spot in the body.  What am I overlooking?

I had that issue caused by air getting into the mold. Are you sure you aren’t mixing any air in when mixing up plastic. Also burping the injector before injecting will help greatly

I second burping it even if the injector is full. Hold injector as near vertical against the cup and slowly shoot some plastic back into your cup.
I would try backing your hold times down too. Try 5 seconds and then try none. That is, shoot until the mold is full and cautiously keep feeding plastic as you back the injector out. Keep it topped off as it draws down.
