Jig Man
I’ve been shooting some twin tail grubs. It is an Angling A I 4 cavity 5” mold. My garage is 95°. I’m trying to keep the plastisol around 320°. I’m using full injectors. I’m injecting slowly and keeping pressure on for about 10 seconds when the mold is full. The tails are filling out well. About 20% of the baits have a hollow spot in the body. What am I overlooking?

Are you sure you aren’t mixing any air in when mixing up plastic. Also burping the injector before injecting will help greatly
Les Young
I always burp the injector too.
Fishermanbt
I second burping it even if the injector is full. Hold injector as near vertical against the cup and slowly shoot some plastic back into your cup. I would try backing your hold times down too. Try 5 seconds and then try none. That is, shoot until the mold is full and cautiously keep feeding plastic as you back the injector out. Keep it topped off as it draws down.
NickQ
I never burp the injector and I do have that AI double tail grub mold and never had an issue. For that mold I never hold pressure when full. I think your temperature isn't right. If you shoot over and over the molds might get very hot but is a wild guess. Hand Crafted Angling
Are you topping off the sprew when it shrinks back in?

I wasn't much of an injector as I only had a couple molds, but this was the issue pretty much every time I had voids. Keep pumpin' that plastic!
