I just checked it out and it looks like (hopefully) they are totally revamping their site.  I just called and was able to leave a message, so hoping for a return call or text from them.  Based in Texas and me being in California, I'm sure it's after hours for them.  I'll try again tomorrow.  For those who don't know and want to try calling, their number is 817-281-9488.

Cool. Thank for the help. I am in California also.

I just ran out of my medium plastic, need to order more!

I hope they haven't gone out of business. I use their products. Sadly, the current economic conditions have completely destroyed the market for bait making supplies and molds.

If I still made baits, I'd be devastated if they shut down!!  Products and service are top notch and yes it breaks my heart to see the small businesses that have shut down due to our economy and administration.

So far, the others we all deal with are still doing ok. The MF site being down could be due to any number of reasons.

Inflation would also affect the commercial sales too. Especially with the cost of shipping these days. So still more economical for the hobby bait maker to pour their own. A pack of Senkos with tax and shipping is now over $10. After your initial investment, you could make 5 or more packs of stickbaits for $10.00

I just talked to Jeff again a few minutes ago, and he's going to fill orders when he can. For now just plastic and color.  I don't think he's going to fill small orders for right now, because it takes just as much time as filling a larger order, and he needs that time for packing up stuff and hauling it to the new location. Some of you may not realize it, but his operation is a pretty decent size warehouse. It's going to take a lot of time to move everything.  Basically if you need quarts of color or at least a few gallons of plastic or more leave a message.

Do not take that as gospel though. Moving a business is an arduous task that takes a lot of time. Particularly one with a lot of inventory.

Thanks for the update!

It would be nice if they would have a notice on their site.  I mean it's not that hard to do LOL!

This works out nicely for me. With fishing season winding down here in the northeast, I won't start picking up production now until after the holidays. MF plastisol is all I have been using, and dint want to have to go for another brand.

Want to try some of their newer colors as well.

I've already started making a wish list for the next fishing season. Vacuum chamber and dual injector at the top of my list. I'm tired of making halves of baits. Next up after those two. More saltwater baits.

Honestly something very suspicious about this one.  Personally, I wouldn't be counting on MF products from now on.  Been in and out of the industry for close to 4 decades and typically when something like this happens, the company is toast.  This is one of those times when I'm REALLY hoping I'm wrong, but you can't be so busy that you can't add a message on your site or at least return a phone call.  I have 2 messages without return calls........and I don't even make baits anymore!  LOL

Hoping for a return or at least a merger, but I wouldn't be holding my breath.

Peace

If I'm the web designer/maintainer for MF, it would literally take seconds to change the original post to something like.....

TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR MAINTENANCE

And if you want to give me 6 more seconds of web work......

PLEASE CHECK BACK SOON..........or...........WE EXPECT TO BE IN FULL SERVICE BY HALLOWEEN

Instead, everyone is in the dark.

Don't get me wrong.  I loved MF's products as that was pretty much all I used, but customers should know the overall plan.  You might have an inside scoop, but the rest of us don't.  Not good customer service.  As I said, really hope I'm wrong here.

I agree 100 percent. I hope they have deep enough pockets to reinvent a working 53 year old business. Maybe they are hoping for a buy out.

Most small family owned businesses fail when the 2nd or 3rd generation take over operations. They just do not have the drive to succeed that the original owner had.

I'm a first hand witness to this.  I lived on a raisin farm for over 20 years.  I saw what it did to my dad.  Always stressed.  One rain and the crop is ruined.  He had 3 heart attacks, the first one at the young age of 46.  The third one killing him at 52.  As much as I loved the ranch, I sure didn't have the fire that my dad had and could never have kept it up.  We ended up selling it and here I am almost 40 years later doing pest control LOL.

As said, sure hoping MF bounces back!!

They are not closing down.  In the video he says it's a clickbait title.  Jeff is doing what I said. He's moving the business to a new location.  He purchased a place in Oklahoma with a nice building for the business and some land.

I didn't know how much of his business he wanted a bunch of strangers to know so I only shared what was important. He's moving. It's a lot of freaking work. He plans to be open around Christmas.  By extension it's kind of hard to make a change on a website while your hammer down on the freeway.  Nor is it a high priority, but I'm sure you'll come back yet again and tell me how you could do it in 2/10 of a second with one eye tied behind your back.

Cut the guy some slack.  He's in the middle of a massive move and reorganization.  The detail that sets you off just may get overlooked.

Sooo, since you are the cosumate "insider"  would you be willing to volunteer to update his website or do you just want to be the snarkey, pompous ass constantly posting about not having "time" to properly inform your customers of what's happening?

He lost me as a long time customer. I always liked the product quality but if its unavailable, then the quality doesn't matter anymore. That 90 minute infomercial video sealed the deal for me. I can see now why some molds are outrageously expensive. Baitchuckin is getting paid to advertise to the 6-12 people that actually watch the videos.

One eye tied behind your back? Eww! Nice visual.

Quality will always matter to me. I have bought supplies from other sellers that were pure garbage.  Wasn’t worth the few pennies saved.
Don’t know who I’ve talked to at MF, but the few times they called me to correct my orders. That spoke volumes. They got my business. I’m just bummed because I have to wait. Even though I don’t need anything for a couple months, I’m a man and I want my toys. This will be a lesson in patience. Good things are worth waiting for.

I believe he was talking to me LOL.

Bottom line is when Robert owned MF, it was a streamlined business that people could count on.  This Jeff person I've never spoken to and have had no contact with.

I don't know about you guys, but when I made baits, this was the beginning of the  busy time of year.  Fishermen are now buying instead of fishing.  Y'all can draw your own conclusions, but if I'm being told MF might  be back in business by Christmas, I'm simply looking for a new supplier.  It's obvious Jeff has his own agenda.  I honestly think it's sad that a major company like MF would do this, but unfortunately it happens when there's a takeover from a person who already has too much on his plate.

BTW.......try as I might, I couldn't post this with one eye tied behind my back and couldn't quite beat that 2/10 (1/5 for those who have had a math class) of a second, but it only took 2 minutes and 12 seconds to write the entire post.  Hard to believe a guy like Jeff doesn't have a couple of minutes to spare, but maybe that's just me ;-)

Sorry to upset you, brother, but like I've already mentioned,  Jeff and Robert and are like me and my dad when we ran a raisin farm.  My dad, Rich, had the fire.  I did not.

I will never apologize for something that was said as fact......and I'm not the type of guy who will say "I told you so" when they are still not open in February.

As you mentioned, I don't make baits anymore, but I know many who do.......and they are not happy.  I really hope MF pulls it together for future service.

That said, I think we've spent enough time on this.  Gladly shutting this one down :D
