Painter1
Rant warning. I admit to becoming increasingly annoyed by point-of-purchase extra costs, from tipping at drive thru food service, to “technology fees”, etc. I was just online buying some supplies from LPO and upped my order to get the free shipping (over $150) but upon checkout, with $158 in my cart, next window shows $2 “shipping” charge. Upon final checkout the $2 is listed as “handling”. I know it’s a small amount but it feels disingenuous. I deleted the order.
mark poulson
Let's hope people vote with their pocketbooks, like you did. We all know it costs to run a business. Be upfront about it, and give us the chance to decide if we're okay with what you charge.
alsworms
Try buying a concert ticket these days. If it's anyone worth a crap, the hidden fees are outrageous. I wanted to surprise my wife for her birthday and buy a couple Eagles tickets. The seats I chose weren't bad at 160 bucks each. Upon checkout, the total order was $510 for 2 tickets. That's 150 bucks worth of BS in my opinion, so I didn't pull the trigger. I'll buy the wife some jewelry or something. At least she'll have something to show for it. SlowFISH
Try taking an Uber to an airport - there are airport fees, car service fees, reservation fees... its like an extra 20 on top of the ride - crazy! If my company wasn't paying for it - I'd probably walk.

Just bought 3 tickets for an upcoming concert. Taxes and "convenience Fee" added up to the cost of another ticket. There was nothing convenient about this. Can't print tickets, they don't mail them. I may be old, but at least I got to see the good bands! Cheaply! 18 hours ago, Painter1 said: Upon final checkout the $2 is listed as “handling”. I know it’s a small amount but it feels disingenuous. But I thought it was around 2.50 Maybe that's this charge. 16 hours ago, mark poulson said: Let's hope people vote with their pocketbooks, like you did. We all know it costs to run a business. I know if I have to pay a bit more for something, I automatically add stuff to my cart to get my money's worth. If I don't know in advance And I get to checkout, I just say nope, and buy somewhere else. There's a lot of suppliers nowadays all selling the same things we use. 2

It’s definitely disingenuous to offer one thing BUT!!! Handling is a joke, the costing of material should include all costs incurred prior to the sale. Shipping is separate and either charge it or don’t. That $2 is a low caliber insult valued to be more principle than $2 could ever buy. cadman
Unfortunately I agree. I have been a die hard LPO purchaser since the Stamina days. They have always had a large variety of products along with really good prices. However, I have noticed that many of their products I used to get, are no longer available, and their pricing has gone up substantially, along with their shipping. I have seen this happen in the last 3 or 4 years prior to Covid. It seems things have changed since they were bought out or merged with a couple of other companies. Sadly, I do not buy as many items from them as I used to. There are many other places to buy product. I am not overpaying for shipping or paying any extra handling fees.
