bigbasser
How do you guys clean things that uncooked liquid plastic gets on? Say a drill paint mixer or a measuring cup. Can you clean it off in the sink with water? Thanks
woodsac
That's what I do I just spray my mixer with a good cleaning agent, let it soak for a couple a minutes, then rinse off with hot water.
bigbasser
what kind of cleaning agent if you don't mind?
woodsac
I've had the best luck with citrus cleaners. The one I'm using right now is 'Fantastic' orange cleaner. It's a general purpose cleaner, but it's non-abrasive and the citrus really breaks down the plastisol, without hurting the plastic on the mixer. alsworms
I use a product called Advantage. That stuff is like gold when it comes to cleaning plastic! I got suckered into purchasing a bottle of that stuff from a door-to-door salesman a couple years ago. Probably the only one of those types of purchases I haven't regretted. And the good news is I found it at a local hardware store, and much cheaper too!
clemmy
One thing i do is put some worm oil into one of those little spray bottles you can get at wally world. I can then spray the mixer before so that it doesn't stick quite as hard...
GB GONE
Won't the worm oil "blow up" your plastic mixture when you heat it??? Maybe I'm misunderstanding but I thought if you mixed worm oil into your plastic KABOOM!! Jim
woodsac
The worm oil isn't a problem. I add a little bit of scented oil to each individual cup before I heat. What you have to watch out for is anything water based! Water and hot plastic don't mix :!:
