ckarren
Tom, I have some of the solid titanium that they have it is not the diameter that I am looking for. I need a thicker diameter for jerkbaits about .035 or .040 the biggest they have is .020. Thanks Tom -Corey Karren
count draculure
Hi Corey, Check with McMaster-Carr. Type titanium wire in the product search. They are a great resource for things like that. I get my SS wire from them. Their web addy is: www.mcmaster.com Hope this helps. ckarren
Thanks for all the info but I am looking for a thicker and stiffer solid wire. What I need is some flex but for the most part a stout thick wire that will not get kinks in it. The problem is I fish lakes that have musky and pike, when you catch a pike they will destroy leaders. A pike will roll like an alligator at the boat and bend your leaders. I was getting my titanium leaders at Thorne Brothers at $10 each I think is high. The problem is I will use them one day and go to use them the next time and the leader sleeve they use is broke. I am worried that I will have a nice fish on and have it happen and loose the fish and lure. Thanks -Corey
Glaucus
Others have also found titanium wire leaders to be unreliable http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=12686&posts=20 http://www.muskyhunter.com/forums/generalforum/4106.html Titanium/nitnol will break easily if nicked, scratched, etc. http://www.ultimateniti.com/documents//Document%20Center%204-24-02%20UTEC%20Page%202%20Basics%20of%20Shape%20Memory.doc http://home.earthlink.net/~bazillion/matls.html
