CHUCKV309
I had been told by some tackle dealers that you cannot buy titanium wire to make your own spinner baits, but after looking on this site, it sounds like you can ! Where can you buy the wire (.035 and .040)and what bender would you use to make the R-bend style? I'm sorry if it has been asked before, but I did a search for titanium wire and got a ton of responses back that had nothing to do with it, and I could only look at the first page for some reason. musky_man
Not my business, but why do you want to use titanium? I have tied thousands of baits and I see no reason to go to that expense. S/S is fine material and plenty strong.
CHUCKV309
I prefer titanium because of how much longer it lasts for me. I use them very hard when I am bass fishing, and a stainless one does not last more than a few days before it starts to run wrong from always having to straighten it. I also like the extra vibration I get from them.
ckarren
The problem is the bends. Titanium wire is made not to retain memory when it is bend. You have to heat it up so you can bend it. So the time that goes in to making them is high. Stamina has .042 wire in 6? long for $1.99 each, with one end closed with a leader sleeve. The biggest wire I found was .020 $12.95 ten-foot coil. If you find a coil of .040 or larger PM me I would love to know were I could find some. -Corey
