staten island angler
Hello everyone today was the first time i tried pouring plastic. I followed del-mart instructions for the stik bait formula. I used 1 cup plastic, 1/4 cup of softner, 1/2 cup of salt. I tried mixing it with a spoon because i dont own a drill the senkos came out soft and sticky can any one help with what i did wrong? civicdx
mine are always sticky too i think its the softner i just add some worm oil in the bag and it takes care of the stickyness.i dont know why they came out soft just mix really well and i pour 2 sticks and then stir again. GB GONE
My guess is that you amy not have mixed your plastic well enough PRIOR to pouring it into your pyrex cup. The plastisol separates into "parts" that, if not mixed well enough, will result in very sticky, soft baits. You will find if the plastic isn't mixed well the baits can be very soft and very sticky...they will get ripped apart easily by the fish or sometimes even on a cast. Try mixing really well, especially the "stuff" that is down on the bottom of the pail. Use a long ladle or something and mix for at least a minute or 2. woodsac
I have to agree that it just wasn't mixed enough before you added it to your cup. I add quite a bit of softener to my 5 gallons of Calhoun and never have a problem with them being sticky or too soft to handle? Try mixing it up better in the bucket. charkins
Yep, sounds like it wasn't mixed well enough. Put a big steel nut or washers in the gallon jug and shake it like you are trying to kill it It is hard to learn to do something without hands on help. Keep trying and asking questions. I promise it will get better.
james bradshaw
They should be a little sticky at first, but should get better if let sit over night. If they are too sticky then you either used too much softener or didn't mix the plastic in the container good enough. your senkos should have a little sticky feel to them when finished but not much. Good luck! james
