smallmouthslayinlurch9
Im going to order my first mold but im not quite sure which one would be the best for my first pour. Are any certain ones easier to pour than others?
woodsac
The straighter and wider the mold cavity is, the easier it is to pour! Make sure that you buy something you will use in the future though.
BassnG3
Two piece stick mold was my easiest when I first started. Scott
NJFishRGuy
I agree with BassNG3... an aluminum 2-piece stick mold was easiest for me, and saved me the most $$ over all the Senkos I used to buy. I have the most trouble with really thin tails on anything.
D.J.
A reaper is very easy to pour too. It also kills the smallmouth
Fleury9816
A reaper is very easy to pour too. It also kills the smallmouth I have never used a reaper. How do you fish it? I may be interested in making it my next mold. Since several guys in here were so kind to help me get started here this past week.
james bradshaw
Reapers work in many situations. split shot rig, drop shot, add to a jig, fish it on a jig head. Just to name a few. I like to split shot reapers! They are very effective for small mouth. But work good for largemouth too. I have even caught alot of trout on small reapers. Good luck! woodsac
Here's a thread that talks about fishing them and covers some colors as well. http://www.tackleunderground.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=4469&highlight=reaper
alsworms
My vote goes for reapers too. That was the first bait I poured that I didn't have to trim.
Fleury9816
I may just have to give them a shot. Thanks!
