Benno
Has anyone got any experience in airbrushing a solvent based clear on soft plastics OTHER than what’s available from Spike-it? Solvent based paints cannot be shipped to Australia so I’m looking for alternatives such as a clear similar to what is used in automotive paint shops? I do intend to use the soft plastic specific water based colours and to airbrush the clear. Maybe the SB paints from the auto shop will also work for applying colour? Interested to hear from anyone who has experience in this regard.
DaveMc1
Nope. Won't work. Automotive paint (specifically the clears) are designed to harden and create a protective layer over your base coat. Whereas the paints supplied by Lure Works (SB Coat, Co-Lure Coat and VPI) are formulated specifically to bond to PVC and remain flexible.
