Trip to Atlanta

Recommended Posts

It looks like I will be going to Atlanta in late June, early July. My wife is being sent to a chef school for a week. I have always wanted to go there. Can anyone lead me to some bass fishing down there. The problem is I probably won't be able to bring most of my stuff, if any. I might try a guide or something like that. Any suggestions about lakes or guides would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

DJ:

If you can get to Lake Lanier (just outside ATL), you might be right at home fishing there!!!

Drop shot is the technique of choice during that time of the year. Just find some structure in 20-30ft of water and you WILL catch fish.

If I lived closer, I'd come up that way (I'm about 4 hours from Lanier).

I'm not sure about guides but I am sure you can rent a boat. I'll get some more info (maybe some gps points :) ) and PM you later this month!!

Jim

PS There is a nice Bass Pro just north of ATL also...bonus!!!

DJ,if you would like call me when you get here.I am 1 hour from Atlanta and be glad to wet a line with you.No need for equipment.

If you want to do Lanier,we can either go or I can put you in touch with Doug "Dr.Spot" Youngblood. www.fishlanier.com He's as good as they come,Doug is a close personal friend of mine and owes me a couple favors

Only draw back to Lanier in june is the stinking boat traffic "and I mean big ones"and personal water craft.Good technique in June is call them big spots out of deep water with a Sammy or Spinnerbait.

Second best option is lake Richard Russel.I have had two magnum spots over 6 pounds last year and this year.Boat traffic is not an issue.

Anyway,we would love to have you down. Blades

PM me if interested
