another way to paint these plastics!?????? hmmm

Recommended Posts

Based on info from another web site, I came up with an idea for painting these plastic things. The PVC glues will gle together torn baits. Is there a way to mix some color into this pvc glue as to color the baits, paint them?

I tried a little enamel today on top of the pvc glue, and the paint held on when I twisted the lure body. It DID wipe off with a little pressure from my finger though. I did not mix up the two before applying them. I think the pvc will set up fast, but I was told MEK will dilute and extend the time. Also, water submerging has not been explored, yet. Any thoughts from the experts???

It seems slightly pricey at first, i cant remember what it actually cost, but I got a few ounces of color pigments (in 5 colors) & 2 ounces of the paint for around $50.

but,..... after you thin it with MEK (3:1) for dotting & @(6:1) for spraying (im guessing for spray)

It works,......... & that was what I was concerned with. :D

I dont remembeer if I put it here or not, but the krylon "fusion" plastic paint that "bonds" to the plastic will not "bond" to our plastics. It does well on the plastic lawn chairs, but it will not cure on our plastics.

Tis a shame too, they have tons of purdy colures.......

Is that what they use on the painted Beetle Spins? I saw them at the Sporting goods store the other day and they looked great. They had all different fluorescent colored grubs with fantastic paint jobs, probably all done in sweatshops in China somewhere. What kind of paint is that?

Thanks,

Not sure of the name of the paint but it does work. I don't know if Johnson ewtc. is using it on Beetlespins but I know exactly what your talking about. Chris, this would look killer on those tadpole looking dropshot baits of yours with the protruding eyes. On man, I'm gonna have to get some now from you!
