Watched that video a few days ago.  Very interesting to see how they are doing it.   I think they may have figured it out.  Japan isn't exactly known for being inefficient.

I'm not sure why they're using a mixing bowl would seem to be easier to use a measuring cup handle and accurate no need of a scale.  Since they're injecting I'd believe they would be more efficient with pots.  LOL "what does your dad do for a living'?  "He lines up worms on a cookie sheet and he's really good at it".

Looks like they have a plastic injection machine that only accepts pellets.

Common in plastic injections of all hard plastic

They are standard horrizontal soft plastic machines (Chinese style) with extruders (utilize solids) on the front end instead of heat exchangers (utilize liquid)

There are FAR less steps involved when pumping the liquid through a heat exchanger directly.
