JayC37jigs
I am set on trying to figure out how to get that reverse flat head screw looking skirt collar shape. I have a question or a challenge. I pour my own jigs and modify my molds as well. I’ve been trying to come up with a way to get a bigger flat head screw type skirt collar on one of the old molds that has the small ball skirt collar. I like the way the bigger taller skirt collar helps the skirt puff out more. I’ve used a Dremel and made the older ball style collar bigger before. Just curious about making the reverse flat head screw skirt keeper (that’s the best way I know to describe it.) I have some ideas but have not dove into it yet completely yet. Any big thoughts on how to do this without totally screwing up my mold?
21xdc
Have you tried just putting an extra o-ring on behind the skirt?

Painter1
Skirt sellers have plastic “skirt umbrellas” that are designed for that. https://barlowstackle.com/-skirt-umbrellas--p823/ I use some old chenille

Good point! I’ve tied the umbrella style skirt before for swim jigs.
bassjiggin1955
Ive been tying this way ever since silicone skirting material was introduced to the public. I even tied the same skirts pattern in flat rubber when living rubber was still around. I still tie them in round rubber now. I still tie the conventional way also. I tie several different skirt patterns. I never use glue to secure the knot when I tie. I wrap and run thread through loop knot then three half hitch knots no slipping skirts the failure rate is 0 for me.1q

I’ve been tying for about 8 years plus or minus. I like the artistic part of being able to tie colors that others don’t have and to test them out as I fish for bass. So it’s a win. I use glue sometimes. I’m assuming you don’t because it damages some of the silicone or rubber? I know it does rubber. Your knot looks small and clean. I do kinda the same knot a whip finisher does but I do it with my hand and fingers. Is that like the overhand knot you are talking about? I’ve never had one fail. Your jigs look nice.
