michalosixxx
Hello, i would like to ask you if there is any way to get rid of micro bubbles that appears at pouring hole ? I am pouring lure with polyurethane resin. After all i am sanding it and even after sanding there are noticeable "craters" in place of pouring hole. There wouldn't be a problem, but when applying the final polyurethane clear coat (by diping) it leaves a rough surface. I attach a photo of a lure after sanding a pour
AZ Fisher
I use this to fill the holes then sand again, rinse and repeat https://www.walmart.com/ip/Bondo-Glazing-and-Spot-Putty-00907ES-4-5-oz-1-Tube/16927984?classType=REGULAR&athbdg=L1200&from=/search
woodieb8
you can use a wood filler like lepages. sand off with 180 and primer. easy fix.
swimb8s
Also try a very lightly dusting the mold with baby powder before you pour resin ,( not sure what this does chemically but it has helped my bubble problems ) , there are bubbles from mixing the resin, and the pouring hole is the highest point so this where the bubbles collect
woodieb8
another note. constricting the sprue and vrnt hole will create a harder body using urethane foams..
