Speckledtroutfish
Hoping for help finding a material to replace the braided line. Maybe a thin durable mesh that won’t instantly absorb a clear coat. Tying and gluing the braid to the wire is a pain. Vudu Shad lures might have the material I’m looking for if anyone can identify. Thanks

Speckledtroutfish
Bait is 4 inches. I use it for speckled trout and red drum. The drum max out around 20lbs. All saltwater.
mark poulson
Maybe try coating the braid that will be expose with something before you pour, like oil.
eastman03
Possibly some of the leader wire you can tie? Still might be a hassle to set up. Might work alright? https://www.fishonestop.com/cproduct/728/#10-124lb-toothproof-stainless-steel-single-strand-leader-1|4lb
21xdc
All of the weight of the fish will be on the hook, not the bead chain.
