The Dutchman
Sent baits to have molds made. Haven't heard from him concerning them. Have e-mailed numerous times and can't seem to get a response. Anyone else having this problem?
NJFishRGuy
I've never had anything but outstanding service from Del-Mart. If you're not getting a response, I'm sure something's not right; wrong email address, miscommunication, or something. Have you tried sending to both email addresses listed at their web site? earthworm77
Del is top notch! Maybe your email isn't getting through?
GB GONE
There was a problem with the "contact us" area of Dels website!!! Try clicking on the mold design email area!! Del/April are awesome to deal with and never have had any problems at all. Your email must not be making it to them as they usually respond within a couple hour!! Jim PS April did tell me that they were moving the shop, maybe they are down for the day but I would be supprised if they have unhooked computers, phone, etc. all at the same time!!! Shmang
I got a PM from Del stating Thursday they were indeed moving the shop to get more room and unfortunately he was a bit behind on his correspondence. He is a top notch fellow and I suspect he will be in touch with you as soon as he can.
The Dutchman
I have done business with Del in the past and found him to be top notch. I have talked with him on the phone and he was very helpful. Maybe he is busy moving the shop. I will try again to e-mail. I am not knocking Del or his service. I just haven't heard from him and wondered if something was wrong on my end or his end. Sorry if I sounded like I was knocking him or his service - I was not. Pop
Dutchman, I have had the same problem with Del. On standard molds service and product quality has been 1st class, but; soon as I have wanted a custom mold, I run into problems. I have tried twice for a custom mold, one jig mold and one plastic mold. I believe Del has the best of intentions, but he is so busy that things get away from him. I have given up on the custom molds. Pop
Senkosam
I ordered T-stick and Senko molds on the 4th and still haven't gotten them - no response to phone or e-mail messages. I'm leaning more and more towards Bob's TS for molds and Del for plastic and dye. I'm one to push a business with fair-to-good products, but great service and customer satisfaction. Delw
Dutchman I am going through a long list of emails now, I am way off on replies due to reason that were stated above. I am using my home del-mart@cox.net and will finish with these then move to the delw@del-mart.com . shoot me over that email at del-mart@cox.net and I will get it answered. I dont know your real name on the email or I would do a search and answer it immed. Frank BTW you didnt order a a t-stik you ordered a 5 1/4 stik mold and a thin senko type mold that looks like a tiki stick, we talked about this on the phone 2 times thats why the long delay cause as I told you I had to make it.the 5 1/4" was ready the day you called like I stated. I also told you not to pay for it until it was made Like I do with all my custom molds. You had no probelm with that at that time the t-stik I have on my site is a BAMBOO stik, this one has the fat center section. Why I put t-stik on it I have no idea maybe just a typo. the one you wanted was different than what I have in stock. heres a little info about custom molds, Yes I try to get them shipped out as soon as possible, some are way out there and some get done rather quickly, it all depends on how busy I am with the production stuff( thats first prioity) Ive on many occasions had to pull custom stuff out due to the production stuff has run low or out of stock. I try to ship out as many custom molds as I can it can range anywhere from 2-5 per week. Most of them have been all drawn up as I get them this takes anywhere from 10 mins to 10 hours, while it might look like a simple worm to some. cnc-machining isnt all the simple when you get down to it. Lead molds weve tried using the do-it blanks but with no success, while we can make them using do-it blanks set up time is 2-5 hours I dont think people want to be charge $50 per hour for a set up time so we stopped using them. Then I tried some other ways that worked so so but they were still expensive and time consuming. I am still working on ways to cut the costs down. The phone: If I am in the shop working I cant hear the phone, or I cant get to the phone in time. the shop phone is at the shop, and if I am the only one there I dont get to it that fast. the main phone is at our house where april is till about noon, she is pretty good about answering calls, then she comes down to the shop and helps down there. best times to reach me is after 5pm az time and that would be at the shop. I am usually there till 10pm-12 midnight. and I forgot to mention as some of you know I tend to talk alot on the phone. Hopefully when we finally get all moved in both phone numbers will be down at the shop and it will be easier to contact us. we hopefully will be a little better organzied. We plan on getting a new machine( used but new to us) as soon as we can but 30-100k doesnt grow on trees, not to mention the tooling that is needed to make the molds if anyone has any questions feel free to email me. I should be caught up with all my emails in the next day. Delw
GB GONE
Well, I had an issue with some plastic and not only did Del call me but April called me as well....I never had to call them!!!! (In addition 2 several emails that I received!) I was overnighted what I need without any problems!!! Everybody has a glitch or 2 in their service at times, I think if we looked at all the "good" responses vs the "iffy" responses...the scale would be tipped heavy in one direction !!! Just my 2 cents!!! (I have no stock/interest in Del-Mart molds, if anyone is asking !!) Jim
Senkosam
Jim, I have no problem with the length of time it would take for a mold to be shipped, but I would appreciate a time reference e-mailed automatically. Sixteen days is a little long to be wondering where your order is, without a word, especially when I talked to Del earlier this week and still had no idea when to expect the package. I don't have any idea how long it takes to cut a new mold, but would have been more than happy to wait for whatever time I was told it would take - if only I was notified. I hope to do more business with Del because of his good rep and because he has superior products - this one set back is just water under the bridge. Del e-mailed me an hour ago to tell me the molds should be here next week - good enough for me! Frank
D.J.
Del is finishing up a couple of custom molds for me as we speak. I have been waiting for a while myself, but I understand how hectic things can get. In my opinion Del is top notch and I will do plenty of business with him in the future :!:
onlybass
I don't know Del.I do set up and program cnc machines to make complex molds for plastic injection. There are not many people in the machine trade who can do the work that Del is doing and do it fast/cost effectively.I would expect that the time from drawing a mold to delivery is 4-8 weeks as an industry standard. The best shops are shipping parts in 2 weeks.I have shipped in less than 24 hours. They paid very, very well.I have looked at his molds and pricing. You are getting a good deal.I am amazed that he even considers doing custom work for the soft plastic industry as it is a small niche market. The volume of work available is small, short run and the pricing that the market will bear is low .How many people buy plastic worms? The more parts that a mold makes the sooner it will wear out.I doubt if an aluminum hand pour mold will ever wear out.How many people buy a drink that comes in a plastic bottle?.I make those molds.Titanium inserts are used because of the high volume of "pours". Large volume of work available, greater piece count and the pricing that the market will bear is better. If Del is a little slow in delivery and communication call me to make your molds. You won't like the price, you will not hear from me, and you will never get a mold.I can not afford to drop the higher volume, higher reward work.Being very busy is a sign of being very good. You got a neat service available to you at a very reasonable price, the man is obviously doing it because he loves it,don't sour the guy on it.It has happened before.
