Miamisheriff
What caused the shut down of many mold makers? Here is a list that I can think of; Bears Baits, Caney Creek molds, Delmart Molds, Lakeside molds, High Rock Molds, Bait Junkies
Apdriver
Bears owner had health issues and passed. Caney Creek sold to Do It. I believe Del had a machine shop that did other things and the hand mold thing was a sideline. High Rock got out of the hand mold business and I believe started making production molds only. bait Junkie sold but the owner is still actively in the bait business both doing production and molds. 1

Bear developed dementia and had to shut the business down, he later passed in a nursing home (sad story) Del passed away as well. High Rock closed and the owner went to work for a new company that tried to develop Production molds and machines, that didn't end up going anywhere. Lakeside shut down several years ago and Chuck passed from cancer I believe a few years ago. BaitJunkys definitely didn't sell the business. Just one of the older CNC machines and the Baitjunkys hand mold designs (they went to lureworks). Leonard is focused on Production Molds and Machines as well as some other cool equipment as well as high volume bait production.
Miamisheriff
Would it be safe to say that Bass Tackle and Bobs Tackle Shack predate the other current hand injected mold makers? I can not think of any others that have stood the test of time. Its got to be a tough business to be in.

Miamisheriff
I believe that's a different company than the one I was thinking of. The other lakeside molds was in Texas.

I can say I highly recommend the current one as I have a few of his molds.
