Trigger Fishing
I have a question for all that work out of a small warehouse or home... Where and how do you store your inventory? Especially baits with silicone skirts, and plastics? I am running out of storage ideas and need to find a better way of strorage.. Or sell more.. dlaery
I don't store any plastics but I package my jigs in bags of 100 and have mine in a garage and dust settles on packages and makes them look bad, so I use the plastic shoe boxes. They have a lid and keeps dust off. I buy these at a Dollar Tree store for $1 each and they stack good. The ones at Wal-Mart stack, but not a good. Trigger Fishing
What about skirts going bad?
basskat
Ultraviolent light is the biggest enemy of silicone skirts. Store them in a dark dry place. If you package your baits avoid storing where floursent lights are used. (I think that's mis-spelled) The band is the first thing to break down. I try to avoid over-producing baits. I pour the heads and paint, don't skirt and package until the order comes in. With the high price of components I don't carry a lot of inventory, ties up a bunch of money for no reason. Celticav
I use an industrial metal storage cabinet that I found in the paper last summer. Its 48 x 72 and has a built-in 50 drawer small parts organizer that easily holds all my spinnerbait hardware surrounded by 60 or so removable plastic bins that store the rest with room to spare. It's big, gray, and looks like something you would find in an old machine shop, but is the most functional system I have ever had and the only thing that I have had to hold everything I use from split rings and skirting all the way to the molds and the ingots.
