softworm
I have been using 2 ml. bags and they just ain't cuttin' it. I have a couple of questions. First what is the difference in polyethylene & polypropylene bags & which one should I use. I'm going to a 4 ml. bag ( I think : ) What are some of the suppliers that you buy from. Royal Bag seems to have the best price on 6 x 4, 4 ml. bags, they are polyethylene, I add worm oil after I put the worms in the bag. Is this bag o.k. for this : Thanks in advance
james bradshaw
You may wan't to do a search on this subject it has been talked about alot in the past. The 4 mil your going to be buying will do the job ok, but the polypropylene bags are better at keeping oil and scent in and are much more clear, your baits look better in the polypropylene bags. but your more limited on sizes you can buy and they are more money. Good luck!
dtrs5kprs
Ask and you shall... http://www.johnsonbag.com/worm_bags.htm Little more $ but a GOOD bag. Holds scent and oil well, labels adhere well.
Mojo
Dave, are the bags with hang holes recloseable? The picture doesn't clearly show a recloseable bag, or one with a hang hole.
pourboyplastics
Softworm - Let me give you my 2 cents on worms bags. The 2 mil and 4 mil polyethlene bags are not a bag bag and the cost is very reasonable, but over time the bags do seem to fall apart. If you attach a label to the outside of the bag the worm oils will eventually bleed into the labels. Over the past 10 years I have found that the Laminated bags to work the best for me. Oils never leak into my labels, holds the bait much better, but the price of these bags can be a much larger investment. I think LC carries laminated and poly bags so you can see the price difference. The laminated bags are almost twice the price Most of the bags manufactures will make these bags for you but the min order is usually 10,000 bags. If you go this route let me know I have a few suppliers that I use.
woodsac
If you want to make a minimal investment and try the laminated bags, you can buy them from Del's site. The quality is great and so is the price. A couple things to remember when ordering zip lock bags. The 1st number in the size is the width (across the top of the zip lock), the 2nd one is the length (how deep the bag is). The other thing is that the dimensions are the overall size of the bag. So, if you order 7x4 bags from Del, the opening is going to be 7" and the bag will be 4" deep. But...that is the outside measurement of the bag. You can only put a 6" worm inside the bag. The extra 'space' is used for the sealing or the 'hems' of the bag. It's not actually storage space
softworm
Dave are you using the laminated bags?
dtrs5kprs
Yes, the 6X4 and the 7X4. You can't see the hang hole in their pic due to the ehader card on the bag. The boxes label them as laminated barrier bags.
