earthworm77
You can use the colors with any plastic. I use Calhouns and do not use softener ever.
JD
If you plan on adding salt to your lures, you will definitely need to add softener, even to Calhoun's.
nova
I switched over to Calhoun's plastic and I like it a lot better. I only use LC colors. No problem.
alsworms
Softener just depends on preference. Best advice I can give is try pouring a few baits without the softener and see what you think. Keep in mind that Calhoun takes longer than most plastics to cool (harden?) once they're poured. To really get a good feel of the texture, let the baits sit for half a day. I like my stuff really SOFT, so I add 1 cup of softener per gallon of plastic. I don't use any salt for saltwater or salt-added baits. Again, this is based entirely on your preference. What works for me might not work for you. Good Luck! Chris
