Mercury
Who here makes a mouse/frog that they use for weed mats/lillypads? Im looking at starting a mouse/frog tube that still floats, is weedless for the bass in the deep mats.
alsworms
Hey Merc, I use my little frog weightless with a no. 2 hook; barb pointed upward. Sometimes I'll place a little piece of worm on the end of the hook to make it more weedless, especially if I'm fishin' really heavy stuff. Our river is loaded with hydrilla this time of year, and it works great. I like to throw it up on the bank and work it in the water. Dynamite fishin' at dusk! Mercury
The thing is I was rigging my craws with a doubble hook, I was thinking of doing the same thing with the frog/ mouse. The mats here in IL are getting thick and I know are holding bass. several lakes nearby are holding lillypads in the coves. I was looking for some killer action this way. Chris, were you using a hollow bait?
alsworms
Nope - just a little floating frog. With the legs, it's about 4 inches. Plenty heavy to cast with no weight. Chris
