I used the cut outs from a large hole saw and threaded rod with very similar alligator clips (do they look at you funny at Radio Shack too?). From looking at your pics I would recommend turning the baits perpendicular to the rods (pegs, posts, whatever) vs the vertical method...seems to finish more evenly, esp on fat cranks.
