FishnDreams
I need some help with 3D stick on eyes. They dont stay on. I use powder and the eye socket are smooth as. The 3d eye keep falling of when casting. What do you guys use to keep them on the spinnerbaits. Am I wasting my time with stick on eye? VARick
I use either expoxy or hard as nails to cover eyes to keep them on. If you use hard as nails just one pass and let it dry before you go over it again. Rick
cadman
I powder paint all my jigs and spinner baits also. I put on all my 3D, and 2D eyes with a small drop of super glue, after the jigs are cured in the oven. Let dry. Or you can just paint them on. cavu
I have had the same problem with my 3D eyes. It seemed that some colors, the flourscent red ones for instance, were worse. They would literally slide off the jig. I send about a 1000 back to the company one time. They replaced them, but said the problem was on my end, not on theirs. Now I coat the whole jig, or at least the eye area with Devcon or something similar.
Mr B
You can also put a coat or two of the Clear Vinal paint on top to seal the eyes from coming off. I am using ETex to coat my Spinnerbaits now and this coats the eyes real nice. Mr B
FishnDreams
Whats Devcon? I have just ran off 60 jigs and put the eyes on with silicone sealant, but I have just read that it takes 7 days to cure. GREAT should have read it before buying it. I'm thinking of covering the eyes with a clear, I'm hoping thats what Devcon is. cadman
Devcon is a high strength epoxy. I learned about it from all the posts in this forum. The stuff is excellent. It is called Devcon 2 Ton Epoxy. Get the 30 minute working time epoxy. I got mine at Walmart for $2. It is a 2 part epoxy, which you put equal amounts of the two parts on a piece of clean cardboard, mix it together, and I brush it on the whole spinnerbait after it is complete. It goes on smooth and dries beautiful. Read the instructions on the package. I have been trying to PM you for a question I have. PM me back.
