tomcat
tried to pour some stick baits for the first time they came out real gooey/mushy this is the recipe that i used 6oz calhoun, 2oz softener, 2 oz of powdered salt. i didn't have time to try another batch got run out of the kitchen. could my calhouns just be extra soft to start with and the extra softener made it worse. reg worms and chunks are ok and a ? on the salt do you guys measure it by weight or volume i filled my cup to the 2oz line thanks justin
nova
I work by volumn. I use 4-5 oz plastic ans 1/4 cup salt. Did you heat the plastic completly? If you don't complete the heating process you will get "gummy" product.
james bradshaw
If you use the recipe 8oz calhoun plastic 4oz salt 2oz softener. You will end up with a stick worm pretty close to a senko, and they will be pretty soft. I always measure out the plastic in the pyrex cup, then add softener cook for 3-1/2 minutes in microwave. Use measuring cups to measure salt and softener. I cut back on the softener a little bit so the worms hold together longer. But if they are too stiff, then they don't work for wacky rigging as good. Good luck! James
