raul Posted April 15, 2005 Report Share Posted April 15, 2005 Hi everybody my name is Raul Gutierrez and I?m new to the place, I see some familiar names from other forums so some of you already know me and know that I?m a tackle junkie. Having encountering some problems with the availability of some baits I use ( something that really pisses me ) I decided to pour my own, besides I have plenty of spare time and instead of spending it doing nothing what the heck I?d rather spend it pouring some baits, after seeing some beauties in the gallery WOW ! I wanna make something like that. Now here are the questions and please explain like if was a 2 year old, not that I?m stupid it?s just that I?m new to the hobby of pouring. I know where to purchase the molds, the plastic, the flake n?all the goodies so here are the questions: Melting: Where do I melt ? do I need a melting pot or I can melt in a microwave ? do I need a thermometer ? if I can melt in the micro at what power setting for how long ? Salt, color, flake, softener and scent: When do I add them, before, after or during melting ? when should I mix ? for how long ? Thanks for the advice ! bigbasser Posted April 15, 2005 Report Share Posted April 15, 2005 One thing that I highly recommend is a respirator. I usually pour in a enclosed garage and the fumes can give you headaches and dry your eyes out, not to mention probably give you cancer. Get a respirator and wear some goggles.
