Fish_N_Fool
I'm looking for someone to make some molds of my baits, I want a CNC custom 2 piece stand up aluminum mold made of my bait, but I can't find anyone that will do it. Both Bob's tackle shack and Del mart were not interested in making any custom molds.I need some info on anybody that makes CNC molds. I need some made ASAP, so any help would be appreciated. GB GONE
Bob has made me a few with no problem. Either Bob/Del are super busy right now OR your mold just can't be made up to their standards.... Good luck in your search... Jim
BASS8BAITS
I just got a price quote on a custom 2 piece 20 cavity injection mold from Zorn. Let's just say the prices are "very" high if you are not dealing with Bob or Del.
overkill
If you can't get an aluminum one made, try making one out of a high quality, high durometer platinum cure silicone. It is very easy to do and will last a very long time
BigZ
I know Bob is busy as all hell with real work lately. Custom stuff is tough for Bob and Del to get out due to real jobs (the ones that pay the bills). Tooling up a machine to run a small job isn't really worth the time considering the prices these guys charge for worm molds compared to what they make when they are doing a short run production job for a "paying client". You also have to consider the fact that there is also a design phase where the mechanical drawing is made from someone's idea they scribbled on a bar napkin. I think Bob and Del both make fishing stuff because they love the sport, 'cause I know they aren't making $h|+ on the mold end of it. Just my wooden nickel... GB GONE
BigZ has a point. I guess if you are willing to pay top $$$$, Bob or Del may consider your mold...Business is business and we make some money using these molds over and over again. Not that I am pushing for a price hike Bob oe Del :-D Jim
