BrettAC23
I would like to design my own heads for spinnerbaits and jigs. I have read about how to make the molds out of bondo. But what can I use to build the head to make the mold from? Any ideas and also how do I get both sides of the head the same? Thanks in advance Brett
Glaucus
I've used balsa wood, though any reasonably hard or rigid material should work. Wood, metal, plastic or even cardboard that's epoxy coated would work. http://tinypic.com/4kxjbp http://tinypic.com/4kxjix Achieving symmetry is not easy, but you can align the eye sockets by drilling a 1/16" hole through the pattern so that they are evenly positioned. You can also build up your pattern in layers like plywood, by cutting out two mirrored pieces together (i.e. a left hand and right hand layer), and then gluing them on each side of your master. Markell
Sculpey clay works well for this. It is easy to work with and after curing is hard as a rock.
