dragline Posted May 8, 2005 Report Share Posted May 8, 2005 Anybody: Hypothetically speaking - If I was using a Jet Mini Lathe with a Vega duplicator and I was attempting to carve 5 - 8 inch baits, what speed would I use on the Lathe? count draculure Posted May 8, 2005 Report Share Posted May 8, 2005 Hi Dragline, I have a Jet midi with a Vega duplicator on it. I always run the lathe at it's highest speed. (3950 rpm) The only time you may consider a slower speed would be if you were turning large diameter pieces or very long slender pieces (i.e. 8" long x ?") where spindle whip may occur.
