finlander
Anything out there heavier to use, more weight for the same mass as lead??
finlander
Lead is easy to use and I do own a lead pot. But is there a metal in rod form, with diff diameters, that can be cut to diff lengths, to weight lures? Thanks.
onlybass
Tungsten(W) is almost twice as heavy as lead(Pb).Melting point of lead is around 600F degrees.Tungsten is just over 6000F degrees.Tungstenco.com offers powder.Check out webelements.com for more info on elements. Tom S
I use .500 dia. brass rod.Not as heavy as lead but very convienant and more accurate and easier to control precise weight.I also used smaller dia.'s for smaller baits. Tom
onlybass
Just saw second post when I submitted. There are many suppliers of Tungsten.Google it.You will probably find cutting it yourself difficult and demanding on tools. You may also consider Heavy Metal which is a Tungsten alloy which is more machinable.Expense will be much greater than lead for either material.
