bassn1
Any one else have this problem? After I oil/spray my baits and bag them, a few weeks later it seems that the plastic has absorbed the oil and turned the plastic hard. I've used worm oil, Pam and now I'm trying Kick 'n Bass garlic oil. Any pointers or other products I should use?
onlybass
I gave a few, that I poured, to a buddy who uses BANG and the worms shrank and got hard. The plastic was MF.I have a vague recolation that mineral oil based scents can react.Hopefully, somebody has more info but if all else fails-call plastic manufacturer. Delw
I know kicken bass works very well. the other stuff I have no idea about. Some plastics will get harder by useing vegtable oils, or any sents with vegitable oils in them. Delw
charkins
Use worm oil such as Lure Craft's worm oil. It won't hurt the worms or the package. That's what I use. Calvin

bassn1
Thanks for the advice guys, I ordered some worm oil from LC. M-F has worm oil and Plastic lubricant. Can any one tell me what the difference is other than the price?
BuMMeRBaits
I use LC's Worm Oil and Scents and have not had this kind of problem.
clemmy
Bassn1- I too have wondered about the difference between the oil/lubricant/softener, if you do a search of forums you should find my post...I never really found out, Del had offered to find out from his Calhoun supplier, but I never heard back... As for keeping softness, I use a drop of plastic softener in the bag along with the scent, although you might to make a test to make sure it won't eat thru you're bags that you use... Senkosam
I use Original Fish Formula and haven't had any problems. Far cheaper than LC's and it smells better.

I thought I did. sorry Calhoun wouldnt tell me the chemical make up. its a propriotory oil. I can understand that , becuas ethen thier competators would go and buy the supplies and make it them selfs , they would loose sales.
