rex upshaw
quick question guys, i haven't been here in a while and wanted your thoughts on the best worm oil to use. i believe the last i used was mf anise and wanted your thoughts on what you feel is the best for using in the bait itself, as well as for adding to the bag when finished. thanks, rex
woodsac
Worm oil is worm oil Buy a scented oil that you have confidence in. If it's the scent you're after, then buy a good scent like pro-cure or kick-n-bass.
rex upshaw
thanks woodsac, i now remember many people talking about pro-cure and how much they liked it. where can i buy it?
woodsac
http://www.pro-cure.com/ If you want to cook the scent into the plastic, use the bait butter. If you're adding it to the bag, use the bait oil. This stuff is really strong. I've considered trying to dillute the oil with some regular worm oil to make it last longer? But I've been out of the oil for a long time now so I haven't got to try
rex upshaw
do you think the bait injector would be worth looking into for putting the oil into the bait?
woodsac
: I can't say...I've never used it. But if you cook the bait butter into the plastic, you won't have to inject the oil I guess it all depends on how many baits you make? Even if you're only pouring say, 50 baits at a time for yourself, that's gonna add up to a lot of time spent just injecting baits Chris has been using pro-cure longer than I have, maybe he's used the injector (or knows someone who has)? charkins
I buy Lure Craft's worm oil and add scent to it. I usually add either crawfish or shad. I also add the scent to the liquid plastic just before I pour it. Cal
alsworms
Chris has been using pro-cure longer than I have' date=' maybe he's used the injector (or knows someone who has)?[/quote'] Nope - sure haven't Jake. Seems like a waste of time to me, but it might work. Pro Cure makes dymanite garlic and anise scents. The threadfin shad is nice, but it makes the plastic bubble. Lure Craft still makes the best shad scent in my opinion. Also really like their crawfish, but you've gotta add it right before pouring 'cuz it cooks out easily. Jackllbass
I have been using Johnsons Baby Oil for a long time. I now mix Pro Cure Garlic with it, and it works great. Later<>< <>< <>< Jack
