Senkosam
I poured some Beavers this morning and figured I'd use florescent chartreuse flakes in clear plastic instead of dye, for that color. I've done this with other flakes in clear and come up with good color combos that almost look solid from above. This is comparable to using clear flakes in clear plastic to make milk white. The one on the left is a laminate using dark pumpkin as the first pour (body only).
Mojo
Wow, that kicks Frank! What other color(s) of flake do you have in that?

NuttyGambler
I know this topic is a little old, but want to encourage folks to try this. I'm new but am currently pouring a good percentage of my baits without any dye and using just flakes. If I am using dye just a drop of two to 4 oz. Greens (mostly) Black Char Holo Gold Red They all look great. I am pouring these to fish not sell. In clear water they DO catch fish. Senkosam
I like controlling color in plastics with flakes versus dye. My fuscia bleeds a little, but it makes a great chameleon STP motor oil. Keep in mind, flakes reflect color internally and externally from inside the plastic and this is pure color in clear plastic vs. a filtered color in dyed plastic. For example, if the only color flakes you use in clear plastic are yellow gold, the plastic will look gold/amber in your hand, but clear with specks when held up to the light. I'm more concerned with the bait's appearance at a fish's eye-level or lower, where I plan to work the lure.
