Fish'nTechnish'n
My son is heading to Australia(Sydney) in July for a couple of weeks to visit a friend and hopefully to do some fishing. Anyone have any tips, suggestions as to where to go for some good fishing? Also he wants to bring his Dad(Me) something great from Down Under, any ideas of something they have in OZ that we can't get in this hemisphere? Thanks FT
reeves
I have a freind who lives in the Sidney area, he is coming here for the month of August to fish. He just e-mailed me the other day and said the temps are in the minuses right now. Their seasons are opposite of ours, so your son is going during their winter. Since Sidney is located on the coast, their is no doubt saltwater action of some sort. Another thought is the mountain area near there has some good trout fishing as I am lead to believe. Hope this has helped some. George Reeves H & P Tackle Welch, OK
Fish'nTechnish'n
Thank you for the info. My son hopes to do a little salt water and if time permits some freshwater(barramundi??) FT
(fly)fishingfreak
Being down here in the land of big lizards, and six foot rodents.... Sydney has good saltwater fishing, and a three hour drive inland gets you to some good trout water. We also have the murray cod, and the Australian bass. All good on lures and fly. There is a lot of info about fishing ESPECIALLY salt water, but the fresh can be very good. The type of gear he has is going to define what he wants to target. Let me know if you want any more info. With regard what he can take you, not much i am afraid. We get the same sort of stuff you do, but I can get you a couple of online stores local to oz, and you can have a look see.. just let me know. Cheers for now, Bradders
