siebler_custom_baits
i was wondering where most yall got your stuff to wrap as i need me a sropshot rod for the bay(2 oz weights) and a spinnerbait rod that can easily throw the 3/4 and 1 oz blades. Mattman
Seeing as you are in California...I'd HIGHLY recommend Angler's Workshop. They are one of my favorites even here in Minnesota. They're my #2 supplier and the only reason my #1 is my #1 is because they are closer and the shipping route is a bit better. But AW is a top notch company to deal with. Good inventory, good prices, take care of problems immediately and to my satisfaction... I've come to avoid anything east of me.

Mr B
CJ, I agree w/ Matt. I get all my rod supplies from Anglers Workshop. Request a catalog though they dont have alot of their stuff on the website. They put out a great catalog. Mr B
siebler_custom_baits
Sweet im gonna order stuff to rewrap a rod i have here, It dont need rewrapping but id like to make it match the boat and stuff, its got good guides and all. Now i got a few questions Anybody have good online source besides mudhole for online instructional mailnly on the cool patters? Im sure i can figure them out but would love to see some stuff Also the tip on this rod is way too whippy. Ive been told i can take a little off the top but not much, What yall think? its 7' Also id like to remove all the labeling on the rod, how hard is it to do this? It is all glassed over and stuff. Mattman
Mudhole has the best online tutorial that I've seen. Not that I've been looking around for one though. If the label has been finished over, you've got a bit of a chore ahead of you. The easiest would probably be to just wrap over the top of it and finish it again. Yes, you can cut some off the tip. Go in small increments, rods stiffen up quickly when you cut them from that end. And once you go too far...
siebler_custom_baits
yeah i thought about how fast its gonna stiffin but when i say whippy....... Oh boy. Figure if i got to far ill have a nice new Heavy bait rod. Dont need a whole lot of sensitivity in the bay when your using 2+oz of weight on a dropshot. They hit it and its just like WHAM. i can use the same rods i throw a half pound of lure with to dopshot with . so your saying to wrap over the whole labeling? I guess i could do that if i make a cool pattern. Ill go try it now. Wait no first im gonna build me a wrapping stand thing (its just a set of v-blocks cause i dont need the tention thing on thread and stuff thats what my bobbin is for) Thanks guys
